Marana's new town manager will be Jamsheed Mehta, who has been working for the town since 2014.

The Town Council voted unanimously Tuesday night to hire Mehta.

“The Town of Marana is extremely lucky to have someone of Jamsheed Mehta’s professional abilities and talents to be our new Town Manager,” said Mayor Ed Honea said in a news release.

Mehta became Deputy Town Manager in March 2014 where he oversaw the town's development services, airport, engineering, utilities, and public works departments.

Since November, he served as the interim Town manager when Gilbert Davidson left the position to work in Gov. Doug Ducey's administration as the Chief Operating Officer for the state.

Mehta had previously served as Interim Assistant City Manager for City of Glendale, Arizona.

He holds degrees in civil engineering and urban planning from the University of Kansas.

His salary, according to the town, will be $188,000 annually.
