Basis volunteers to be honored at park

A Tucson Clean and Beautiful Adopt-A-Park Program Ceremony honoring volunteers from Basis Tucson North Charter School will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Alamo Wash Linear Park at Fort Lowell Road. Parking is available across the street at Faith Tabernacle Church, 5011 E. Fort Lowell Road.

For the past six months, an after-school student group known as the BASIS Buffel Banditshas volunteered through the program to adopt the park.For more information, call 207-0076.

VA to hold annual walk

The Southern Arizona VA Health Care System is holding its Fourth Annual VA2K Walk and Roll event from 7-9 a.m. Wednesday at 3601 S. Sixth Ave., to benefit homeless veterans.

Registration is at 6:30 a.m. in the R.E. Lindsey Jr. Auditorium, Bldg. 4.

SAVAHCS employees are asked to donate items. Dog food and treats are being accepted for homeless vets with dogs. The homeless quarters are requesting donations of shower curtains with rings, table lamps, and bed pillows.Non-SAVAHCS people are also invited to donate items.

Public invited to talk about regional park

Pima County Board of Supervisors Chair Sharon Bronson of District 3 invites the public to discuss the future of Rillito Regional Park from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at Ellie Towne Flowing Wells Community Center, 1660 W. Ruthrauff Road. The bond package for the park will be discussed.
