Dog-rescue group sets mini-golf tourney

Rescue A Golden of Arizona, an organization that rescues and finds homes for unwanted golden retrievers, is hosting a miniature golf tournament on Saturday from 8 a.m. to noon at Golf N' Stuff, 6503 E. Tanque Verde Road.

Families are invited to play golf, video games and laser tag, and enjoy bumper boats, batting cages and go-karts.

Attendees also have the opportunity to sponsor a hole, with an 18"x24" sign featuring a family photo, pet photo or business logo. Every dollar raised for hole sponsorship will benefit Rescue A Golden of Arizona, as well as part of the golf registration fees.

Guests can preregister for miniature golf at www.golden-retriever.org. Golf teams consist of two to six people, and there are three packages to choose from.

Prizes will be awarded for first, second and third place, and there will be an award for "Needs Most Improvement."

Light refreshments will be available, and volunteers will be on hand with information about golden retriever rescue, pet health and proper care.

For information, call 360-4414, or email scottiesgems@cox.net.
