Photos: Tucson Holiday Ice and the Parade of Lights

Downtown Holiday Ice on 5th Ave., at 45 N. 5th Ave., at 5th Avenue and Toole Avenue is open for skaters through January 5, 2020. Hours are 4-10 p.m. weekdays, noon to 10 p.m. Saturday, noon to 7 p.m. Sunday, noon to 11 p.m. New Year's Eve and 4-10 p.m. New Year's Day. All-day admission is $15 for adults, $10 for children 12 and under. Skates are included. For more information go totucsonaz.gov/parks/tucson-holiday-ice

The 25th Parade of Lights in downtown Tucson was Nov. 30, 2019. Thousands of people crowded the route on Stone, Pennington, 6th Avenue and Toole Avenue. Nearly 70 entries are decked with lights. The entries are judged for five awards.

Rick Wiley is the photo editor of the Arizona Daily Star in Tucson. From 1995-2004, he was director of photography at the East Valley Tribune in Mesa. From 1988-94 he was a photographer at the Tucson Citizen. He is a graduate of ASU (yes, that ASU).
