Tucson police have released the name of a motorcyclist who was killed after colliding with a pickup truck on Tucson's southwest side Saturday evening.

Saxen Hurst, 20, was killed in the collision between his 2002 Harley Davidson and a 2007 F-150 pickup at around 7 p.m. on West Silverlake Road, just east of South Mission Road, according to a news release from the Tucson Police Department.

Detectives were able to determine that the motorcycle was traveling eastbound on Silverlake when it collided with the pickup, which was attempting to turn left onto Silverlake from North Cottonwood Lane.

A Tucson Police Officer who was leaving the Pima County Jail on Silverlake came upon the accident right after it happened and attempted to administer CPR on the motorcyclist.

Tucson Fire arrived and took over medical treatment, but the motorcyclist died at the scene, according to the release.

The motorcyclist was wearing a helmet at the time of the collision.

The driver of the pickup truck remained at the scene and there were no signs of impairment. No citations or arrests had been made as of Sunday afternoon.
