Tucson: Turn in your losing lottery tickets for pizza today

Just in case you don't have a winning lottery ticket tonight and won't become a billionaire by tomorrow, at least you can get a free slice of pizza.

On Wednesday, folks who bring their losing lottery tickets to Villa Italian Kitchen can get a free slice of cheese pizza with the purchase of a beverage. The quick-service pizza spot has two locations in Tucson — inside Park Place Mall and Tucson Mall.

All you have to do is buy a drink and show your losing ticket, so don't throw it away! Side note: The ticket has to have Tuesday's date on it.

"We have been following the news of this historic lottery drawing closely," communications director Mimi Wunderlich said in a news release. "When we heard what the odds of winning the jackpot were, we couldn’t help but feel for all those who would be let down – and we knew that we would probably have to be at work on Wednesday morning, too! While a free slice of pizza isn’t a billion dollars, hopefully it will still make someone’s day."

Meanwhile, cross your fingers that you do win the lottery — then you can buy all the pizza you want.
