The Phoenix Fire Department is reminding everyone how to safely fry a turkey this holiday season. They say to fully thaw your turkey, use the right amount of oil at the right temperature, don't fry indoors, keep children and pets at least 3 feet away and "keep an eye on what you fry." The Tucson Fire Department also offered cooking safety tips this week, including: If pans need to be on the front burner of your stove, turn the handles in, don't leave the stove unattended while cooking, and keep sharp knives away from the edge of the counter.
