The author of a March 13th Letter to the Editor, in addition to flaunting his credentials, refers to a teacher as "a 20-something." How rude!
I wonder if his political science and law degrees, not to mention his extensive courses in law-related subjects, qualify him to deal with youngsters with learning disabilities, physical handicaps, attention problems, abusive parents, and a myriad of other problems found in many, if not all, public school classrooms.
His education, although impressive, certainly doesn't qualify him to teach public school. I would much rather have "a 20-something" with appropriate education and training in unique public school issues rather than someone with no exposure to youngsters with special needs.
