Woman sentenced in Oro Valley murder-for-hire case

Theresa White, 51, will be serving seven years in prison for paying an undercover officer to have her relative killed.

An Oro Valley woman has accepted a plea agreement for attempting to hire someone to kill a relative .

In Aug. 2013, the Oro Valley Police Department were made aware that Theresa White, 51, told a former family member that she wanted to have a relative of hers killed.

During the course of the police investigation, White made a payment to an undercover officer to kill her relative. She was arrested and booked into the Pima County jail on one count of conspiracy to commit first degree murder.

She remained in jail while awaiting trial and on Jan. 6 pleaded guilty, accepting an agreement to serve seven years in prison for conspiracy to commit first degree murder.
