Of late, the House of Representatives has been tying themselves in knots trying to fulfill Trump’s budget demands, most important of which seems to be a $5 trillion tax break that largely benefits people who are already rich. So far, spending cuts to Medicaid, food stamps, farm to school food aid and programs that oversee clean air and water, to name only a few, have trimmed $1.5 trillion from the budget. It looks like this budget will pass. I have two questions for folks who support Trump: Are you really ok with this? Is it really ok with you that, regardless of drastic cuts to programs that benefit the poor, the working poor and their children and the health of everyone in the nation, these tax cuts will still add $3.5 trillion to the federal deficit?
