The recent rejection of most ballot tax increases and school budget overrides, in the recent election, does not surprise me. The original and one of the primary reasons for the establishment of county and other municipal governments early last century was to pave and maintain the dirt roads and streets in their communities. In recent decades we have expanded these government agencies to include too many additional and sometimes redundant services.

I for one will not vote for any further tax increases, or support any candidate for office that does, except and until those increases are designated to repair and repave our county roads and city streets. I would suggest that others join me.
