In last Sunday's Star, an interesting story of national scope was found buried in the Tucson and Region section on page 6, quietly resting among ads below the fold. The mainstream media, the Star included, has demonized the NRA, the Second Amendment, and individual gun ownership of firearms. The personal protection issue in particular has been minimized.

The story was about a woman being attacked by a man with a hatchet. He attempted to carjack her and she retaliated with her weapon. The attacker was shot and is hospitalized. The woman is safe. The purpose of the Second Amendment and the NRA is personal protection. The former for defense against a tyrannical government the latter for the right of personal protection. The media and the left mock both of those stances. My guess is that woman does not.
