Solidarity Week: Piecing together compassion, kindness

Solidarity week usually takes place near Valentine's Day and it is designed to encourage medical staff to show their support of the importance of kindness towards patients. Colleen Conlin, art project manager with Ben’s Bells, and University of Arizona Medical Center employees built a “Be Kind” mosaic on Monday outside Diamond Children’s hospital, 1501 N. Campbell Ave. The project is part of Solidarity Week, which promotes compassionate care of patients. Events designed to bring together health-care faculty members, students and staff workers throughout the University of Arizona health sciences colleges continue through Friday, Medical students in the Tucson Gold Humanism Honor Society lead the week’s events.
