Arizona basketball: Five-star forward Reid commits to LSU as expected

  • Updated

The commitment of five-star New Jersey forward Naz Reid to LSU comes as no surprise, especially after he did not schedule a visit to Arizona last weekend as has been speculated.

Reid posted on Aug. 18 that LSU and Arizona were his final two choices but posted a video today announcing he will play for the Tigers.

Reid had long been considered an LSU lean, although he is a close friend of UA commit Jahvon Quinerly.

Sean Miller's annual allotment of 45 hours of charter jet time might be coming in handy this week.

He was among the coaches on hand to see Canadian forward Simi Shittu work out for Vermont Academy on Tuesday. He was then scheduled to scramble to Pittsburgh in time for a cancer fundraiser Tuesday evening, all while making in-home visits this week.

It's a pretty safe assumption Miller will make in-home visits with Shittu and Bol... but John Calipari is also headed to Southern California to make his pitch to Bol.

ICYMI, Nik Stauskas was the best man in T.J. McConnell's wedding on Saturday in Pittsburgh although the Wildcats were well-represented.
