UCLA manufactured a run with two outs in the ninth inning and went on to beat Arizona 4-3 at Hi Corbett Field on Friday night.

With the score tied at 3 and two outs in the top of the ninth, Kort Peterson singled and stole second. Sean Bouchard then singled in him for the winning run.

The Wildcats had a chance to tie the game in their half of the ninth, but after Zach Gibbons singled, UCLA pitcher Grant Dyer (1-1) got a double play and pop-up to end the game.

Bobby Dalbec (4-2) took the loss, allowing one run in two innings.

Dyer went the distance for the No. 23 Bruins, allowing six hits and two earned runs.

Alfonso Rivas was 3 for 4 for the Wildcats. His RBI single in the fourth put UA up 2-1. In the sixth, he tripled and then scored on a single by Gibbons to tie the game at 3.

The teams meet in the rubber game of the series at 1 p.m. Saturday.
