CHAPEL HILL, N.C. — North Carolina left little doubt Saturday about who is No. 1.
Ivory Latta scored 18 points to help the second-ranked Tar Heels beat top-ranked Duke 77-65, a win that gave North Carolina the ACC regular-season title and a likely return to the top of the national rankings.
Erlana Larkins and La'Tangela Atkinson each added 16 points for the Tar Heels (26-1, 13-1), who led the entire way to earn their fifth straight win in the series.
North Carolina earned its second win against a No. 1-ranked team — both against Duke — in 21 tries and earned the top seed in next week's ACC tournament for the second straight season.
Wanisha Smith scored 16 points to lead the Blue Devils (25-2, 12-2). The Blue Devils head into the ACC tournament as the second seed.

● No. 7 Rutgers 65, Pittsburgh 50: In Pittsburgh, Cappie Pondexter scored 23 points, and Rutgers clinched at least a tie for its second straight Big East regular-season title.
It marked the 23rd straight Big East win for the Scarlet Knights (23-3, 15-0), who can capture the outright title and the No. 1 seed in the Big East tournament with a win at home Monday night against Connecticut.
Marcedes Walker had 24 points for Pittsburgh (18-8, 9-6).
● No. 8 Connecticut 74, Marquette 59: In Storrs, Conn., Renee Montgomery scored 15 points to pace Connecticut.
Barbara Turner and Charde Houston each scored 10 for the Huskies, who have won five straight. Turner joined fellow seniors Ann Strother, Willnett Crockett and Nicole Wolff in their final home game.
The quartet compiled a 118-16 record over the four years and won two national championships.
Svetlana Kovalenko led Marquette with 12 points and eight rebounds.
● No. 10 Baylor 79, Kansas State 70: In Manhattan, Kan., Sophia Young had 33 points and 13 rebounds for her 13th double-double of the season.
Young, the Big 12's career rebounding leader, needs 31 points to break the conference scoring record of 2,333 set by Kansas State's Kendra Wecker from 2001-05.
Young also recorded her 300th steal in the win.
Chameka Scott also had a double-double with 10 points and 12 rebounds for Baylor (21-5, 10-4 Big 12), which won in Manhattan for the first time.
Kansas State (17-9, 7-8) lost its regular-season home finale for the first time since 1998.
● No. 16 DePaul 74, Providence 68: In Providence, R.I., Khara Smith scored 22 points and had 13 rebounds to pace DePaul.
Allie Quigley added 18 points for DePaul (23-5, 10-5 Big East), which won its fifth straight game. Providence (8-18, 3-12) pulled within two points four times in the last 6 minutes, but each time, DePaul countered with a key basket.
Shauna Snyder led Providence with 19 points.
● No. 21 BYU 73, TCU 56: In Provo, Utah, Ambrosia Anderson scored 25 points to lead Brigham Young.
Shooting and rebounding were the keys for the Cougars (22-3, 12-2 Mountain West); they shot 45 percent and out-rebounded the Lady Frogs 51-34.
Ashley Davis came off the bench to score a career-high 22 points for TCU (15-10, 9-5).
● No. 23 New Mexico 75, San Diego State 48: In San Diego, Julie Briody tied a career high with 20 points as the Lobos beat San Diego State.
Briody replaced an injured Dionne Marsh, who sprained her left ankle 5 minutes into the game. Marsh, who leads the Lobos (20-7, 10-4 Mountain West) in scoring with 15.9 points a game, was helped off the court. She later returned to the bench on crutches.
Veronica Shaw led San Diego State (3-22, 0-15) with 16 points and seven rebounds.
