Arizona senior Kevin Cordes won the Pac-12 title in the 100-yard breast stroke for the third straight year Friday night in Federal Way, Washington.

Cordes, the 2013 and 2014 NCAA swimmer of the year, touched in 52.18 seconds. His championship came a day after teammate Brad Tandy won his second straight Pac-12 title in the 50 freestyle in 18.95.

Rafael Quintero placed third in Friday’s 3-meter diving final for UA, which also took fourth in the 400 medley relay and was in fourth place going into Saturday’s final day.

•In sand volleyball, UA opened its second season with a 5-0 win over TCU on the first day of the Arizona Invitational. UA’s No. 1 team of Madi Kingdon and Kaitlyn Leary won 21-7, 21-11, while the No. 2 team of twins Madison and McKenna Witt rolled 21-11, 21-6. Saturday, UA will host LSU (11 a.m.) and ASU (4:30 p.m.) at the sand volleyball courts, southeast of McKale Center.

• In gymnastics, Allison Flores won the all-around to lead Arizona (195.450) to a quad meet victory over Bowling Green (195.250), Eastern Michigan (195.225) and host Michigan State (194.350) Friday in East Lansing, Michigan. UA’s Shelby Edwards was second in the vault at 9.900, while UA’s Madison Cindric, Shelby Edwards and Flores tied for second in the beam at 9.825.

• In women’s golf, UA carded a 15-over-par 295 to take a two-shot lead over host Florida after the first round of the SunTrust Gator Invitational in Gainesville. UA’s Manon Gidali and Krystal Quihuis fired 3-over 73s to tie for fourth, two shots from the lead in the 15-team, three-day tourney.
