Summerset becomes first Tucson prep star to clear 7 feet

On Friday afternoon at Mountain View High School, senior Justice Summerset became the first Tucson prep athlete to clear 7 feet in the high jump. It’s not a state record; Arizona freshman Bryant O’Georgia jumped 7-2¼ at the 2014 state championships for Phoenix North Canyon High, to break a record set in 1989. Summerset has about two months to chip away at O’Georgia’s state record.
