The Chuk-son Trail and Beyond: Urban Explorations!

Part of Beyond Tucson — Join Ironwood Tree Experience for a 1.5-mile walking exploration along a section of the Chuk-son Trail. This eye-opening experience highlights Tucson’s natural and historical stories from the El Tiradito Shrine in Barrio Viejo to the base of Sentinel Peak (“A” Mountain).

Desert Museum Mineral Madness Sale and Family Fun

Shop for your own mineral and fossil treasures at rock-bottom prices. Thousands of mineral specimens for sale for the novice to the serious collector. Bargain hunters will find specimens for as little as 50 cents.

The Museum's Junior Docents will run geology activity stations, where you can learn about mineral uses and special properties, make mineral crafts, and learn how to identify minerals. At each station, children can collect a free rock or mineral specimen in their own egg-carton collection box.
