If you go
● Anyone contemplating a trip to Guatemala should consider the question of safety. Travel is generally safe, but the country is impoverished and there have been violent attacks against tourists. Unless you are familiar with the country and speak good Spanish, it is best to bike with a guide and/or tour. The U.S. State Department continues to urge caution in response to increased violent crime.
