When Ken and Kathy Peterson moved through their first year as members of the SaddleBrooke Swim Club, they didn’t just find a place to swim—they found a community that energized them from the very first lap.
Their introduction to the club began with a simple newspaper article in The SaddleBrooke Progress highlighting the club’s popular “Let’s Swim” clinics. Curious and ready to try something new, Ken and Kathy signed up. What they discovered exceeded expectations. “The coaching staff was fun, engaging and positive,” they recall. “We found ourselves wanting more of that exhilarating energy.” The decision to become official club members came almost immediately after.
Ask Ken and Kathy what keeps them coming back week after week, and the answer goes well beyond the workout. While swimming itself is a cornerstone, it’s the people and atmosphere that truly stand out. “The camaraderie is incredible,” they say. “It’s such a positive environment, and swimming is a stress-free, holistic exercise for both the body and mind.” In a community known for active living, the SaddleBrooke Swim Club offers its own unique blend of fitness, friendship and fun.
Over the past year, swimming has fit seamlessly into their SaddleBrooke lifestyle. With multiple coached practices available each week, Ken and Kathy appreciate the flexibility to swim on their own schedule while still benefiting from expert guidance. “The motivation from the coaches and fellow club members makes swimming fun,” they note—a powerful combination that keeps them engaged and committed.
For Ken and Kathy, there wasn’t a single defining moment when they realized they had found their place—it happened right away. “The ‘Let’s Swim’ class energized us so much that we joined immediately and started attending coached practices,” they explain. “Every moment since our first class has been positive reinforcement.”
To anyone in the SaddleBrooke community who may be on the fence about joining, Ken and Kathy have simple, heartfelt advice: “Try it! Jump in and get ready for a fantastic time with friendly, positive people who genuinely care about you and your welfare. There’s no judging—just selfless dedication from everyone in the club.”
Their story is a reminder that sometimes, all it takes is one dive in to discover a whole new way to stay active, connected and inspired.
