If you love barbecue pork almost as much as you fear the living dead, mark your calendars Oct. 17 for the first ever Zom-B-Q Smokeout at Buckelew Farm, 17000 W. Ajo Highway. Test your wits in the Terror in the Corn haunted corn maze, and fill your belly with dishes from more than a dozen local pitmasters.
Attendees will decide who has the best barbecue pork dish, keeping in mind the three T’s: “taste, tenderness and terror.” Contenders will also compete for a $100 bonus prize for the most imaginative dessert using pumpkins from Buckelew Farm.
A $30 ticket ($35 day of event, free for kids under 5) gets you samples from each vendor, plus a beer, wine or soda, as well as live music by local musician Drew Cooper. Ticket holders will also receive $10 off admission to “Terror in the Corn.” Event starts at 6 p.m. For more information, go to tucsonterrorinthecorn.com
