Construction has begun on the January 8th Memorial, which will be located just west of the Pima County Historic Courthouse. Some local researchers have unearthed artifacts sifted from more-than-200-year-old waste pits. The items are shedding new light on the daily life and regional trading practices at Tucson's original presidio.
