A Tucson woman was arrested this week walking across the Nogales border after officers say they found heroin hidden in her underwear.
Elaine Espinoza, 38, was stopped and searched Tuesday afternoon after walking into Nogales on the Mariposa pedestrian crossing, a news release from U.S. Customs and Border Protection said.
Two packages of heroin were found in a bra and another package was disguised as a sanitary napkin, the release said.
The three pounds of heroin had a street valley of more than $39,000 the release said.
Officers turned Espinoza over to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s Homeland Security Investigations.
