Border Patrol agents arrested three people after finding five people hiding in the trunks of vehicles at the Interstate 19 checkpoint south of Tucson, Customs and Border Protection said in a news release.
The unrelated incidents last week were:
- On Wednesday, agents discovered an illegal immigrant in the trunk of a Dodge Avenger.
- On March 13, agents at the checkpoint inspected a Dodge Neon and found two people being smuggled in the trunk.
- On March 14, agents arrested the driver of a Chevrolet Cruze after finding two illegal immigrants, including a child, in the trunk of the rental vehicle.
