A 19-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a fatal shooting this week during an attempted armed robbery on Tucson's southwest side.
Joshua Nicholas Escobar, 19, was apprehended without incident Thursday afternoon near West Ajo Way and South 12th Avenue, the Pima County Sheriff's Department said in a news release.
Escobar was arrested on suspicion of first-degree murder, armed robbery, aggravated robbery and conspiracy to commit armed robbery, the release said.
An unidentified juvenile was arrested earlier this week and is facing the same charges.
The arrests are in connection with an armed robbery attempt Monday night in which investigators say an unidentified juvenile shot and killed one of three people trying to rob him at gunpoint in a neighborhood near South Camino De La Tierra and West Los Reales Road. He wounded a second alleged robber.
