Jayne Poppert has been all over this country, including Hawaii. Back in the day, she went to Hawaii to practice her nursing skills with people in a TB hospital. Her second day there she went to a party and met the love of her life. They were married for 56 years.
They bought a house in SaddleBrooke in 1998 and were snow birds until 2017 when they moved here full time from their home in Littleton, Colorado, their home for 40 years.
Jayne is one of the most accomplished and prolific Knit Wits. The picture shows the magnificent afghan she knitted. Each of the 25 squares is a different pattern. Jayne learned to knit as a young teenager, and her first project was one involving cables which she still loves to do.
Besides knitting, Jayne golfs twice a week and does water aerobics five times a week—and to top it off, she takes NO medications.
If you have basic knitting or crocheting skills, we’d love to have you join us. I can't promise that we can make you as talented or healthy as Jayne, but I can promise you that you will meet some very nice people, have lively conversations, probably laugh a little or a lot, and pick up tips to aid your craft. We meet every Wednesday morning from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. in room 4 of the HOA-1 craft area. Hope to see you.
