What fun we’ve had over summer! My daughter says we live at “Senior Citizen Day Camp”. That about sums it up. And summer is no less busy. Year round, hands-on “cerebellum exercise” and dexterity improvement are important additions to a healthy, active retirement. Have you considered silversmithing and lapidary?
Of the many classes held in the SaddleBrooke Silversmithing and Lapidary Club, one particularly successful idea has been the inlay bracelet. Mark Erickson has been offering these for some time now, and has tutored over 60 students, both guys and gals. Fee is materials only. Every one of us has successfully completed at least one. And most of us have done several or many. Copper and sterling silver, both are beautiful. The endless array of ideas available offer designs to fit any whim.
The club offers beginning classes in silversmithing and lapidary, as needed. Please stop in on Wednesdays and Fridays after 9 a.m. When you’re here, look around and see the happy faces creating masterpieces!
Various patinas, enameling, forming and joining metals—just some of the many classes coming up in the Turquoise room of the MountainView Arts and Crafts building west of the HOA-2 Administration office. For a detailed map, visit our website at sslc.club.
