A Walmart Neighborhood Market near South Tucson Boulevard and East Drexel Road held its grand opening Wednesday. It will employ up to 95 full- and part-time workers.
The 24-hour Neighborhood Market, at 2565 E. Commerce Center Place, includes a full pharmacy, a fuel station and a store pickup service for products ordered from Walmart.com.
The store’s manager, Jose Vargas, began his Walmart career as an hourly associate, like more than 75 percent of the chain’s store managers, the company said. Job applicants can apply at any store’s hiring kiosk or online at Walmartcareers.com.
Walmart is Southern Arizona’s 10th-largest employer, with about 5,400 employees as of a year ago, the annual Star 200 survey shows.
