About 400 people gathered Friday night at the JW Marriott Starr Pass in attempt to rally financial and moral support for Arizona’s 1994 All-Pac-10 lineman Warner Smith. The San Manuel High School grad has been fighting ALS (Lou Gehrig’s disease) for about 18 months. Among those who flew to Tucson to support their ex-teammate were Tedy Bruschi, Mike Scurlock and former Desert Swarm-era coaches Duane Akina and Charlie Dickey.
