I have lived here 18 months, came from Michigan. While there over 50 years, I noticed that when a new or resurfaced road was completed, it would remain looking new. Unless damaged by accident or overweight trucks, or until water went into pores of asphalt in winter and froze, expanding as water does, causing holes.I
f holes were to appear in warm temperatures, the contractor was responsible for repairs. I have seen holes forming on one such road here south of Tucson in temperatures from a high of 90 to a low of 55, with zero rainfall. Having seen this, I have to wonder about the quality of both the materials and the process of application being used. I think we should expect more longevity from our roads.
