The Tucson shooting that killed six people and injured 13, including U.S. Rep. Gabrielle Giffords, is the inspiration for an upcoming episode of the NBC crime show “Law & Order: LA,” Entertainment Weekly reported Monday.
Filming started Monday on the episode, in which a female state senator is shot in public, the magazine reported on its website.
Giffords was shot at a “Congress on Your Corner” event held at a northwest-side grocery store the morning on Jan. 8.
“Ripped from the headlines” storylines are common fodder for “Law & Order,” but a representative for the show emphasized that the show is fiction, Entertainment Weekly reported.
