One can draw some interesting implications when the Star publishes a letter that calls Heidi Heitkamp a Montana senator. Truth: she's from North Dakota.
Possible implications: An Arizona 'Letters' editor regards northern states as a bunch of names that are so much alike there's no need to distinguish among them. Perhaps the letter writer had a point to make, so important that a fact check was unimportant. Worse, this shows that an elementary school subject, geography, that was essential some decades ago is now missing from the curriculum.
Reality is that North Dakota is a booming state with huge energy producing potential and a population that is more than a few ranchers and some Indian reservations!
