A nine-year starting linebacker for the St. Louis Cardinals, Arneson had to ask UA defensive coordinator Sharky Price to recruit him in 1968. Arneson said he didn’t get a single recruiting letter from another school.
Life after football: He is among those who have sued the NFL for physical damages; Arneson says he suffered seven concussions. He lives near St. Louis and owns a carpet business.
