Methamphetamine is a white, bitter-tasting powder that produces intense euphoria, known as a "rush."
The short-term effects of abuse include increased physical activity, decreased appetite and rapid heart rate. Long-term consequences include extreme weight loss, severe dental problems, anxiety, confusion and insomnia.
Most of the meth abused in the United States comes from foreign or domestic superlabs, but it also can be made in small, illegal labs.
