It’s Cinco de Mayo on Saturday and whether you know this or not, it’s akin to a national holiday in these parts.
We all get into the celebration Mexico’s independence over France, or at least the watered-down food-and-drink Americanized end of the party.
Enter Tucson’s El Charro Café, which is piggy-backing Cinco de Mayo with its 90th anniversary to present the “90 Cent Cinco Fiesta” at all five Tucson-area El Charro locations Friday and Saturday.
Here’s the deal: On those days, you can get 90 cent Corona and Pacifico beers and Sauza Margaritas throughout the day, as well as 90 cent corn tamales and soft chicken tacos. Yummo.
The original El Charro Café is at 311 N. Court Ave., downtown. Other locations are at: 6310 E. Broadway in El Mercado; 7725 N. Oracle Road in Oro Valley; 6910 E. Sunrise Drive; and 15920 S. Rancho Sahuarita Blvd. in Sahuarita.
