Notable achievement: Van Dyken spent two years at the UA before transferring to Colorado State. There, her career really took off: She broke a U.S. record at the 1994 NCAA championships, the same year she was selected as the NCAA Female Swimmer of the Year. She later went on to win six Olympic gold medals.
