Former U.S. Poet Laureate Rita Dove returns to the University of Arizona Poetry Center, 1508 E. Helen St., Thursday for a reading.
Dove was the laureate from 1993-1995 and was the recipient of a 1987 Pulitzer Prize in poetry for her collection, "Thomas and Beulah."
She also received a National Humanities Medal in 1996 from former President Clinton and a National Medal of Arts in 2011 from President Obama. Oh, and she has 25 honorary doctorates.
