The missing leg of a pedestrian killed in a hit-and-run crash has been found on the rooftop of a Mesa building near the scene.
Mesa police said Thursday that the lower-left leg of the victim was located after officers returned to the scene of Sunday’s early-morning crash.
The leg was found on the roof of a storage facility about 160 feet from the crash, they say.
Police recovered the suspect’s vehicle after the crash.
The name of the victim hasn’t been released yet. Another male pedestrian was injured in the same wreck remains hospitalized.
Authorities say 22-year-old Jose DeJesus Padilla-Rodriguez is facing two counts of failure to stop at a serious injury or fatal collision and two counts of failure to remain at a serious injury or fatal collision.
