Mamta Popat / Arizona Daily StarDesert Christian High School grad Zach Malis, a starting third baseman at Grand Canyon University, also had a breakout summer. Malis, who led DCHS to three state championships, hit .305 for the Waterloo Bucks of the Northwoods League, driving in 41 runs in 69 games.
