It now appears as if Tiger Woods will take an extended leave from the PGA Tour, not returning until the Florida swing. He hasn’t been a factor at the WGC-Accenture Match Play Championship since winning in 2008, so it’s not like his absence will be anything new. At issue isn’t the format as much as it is The Golf Club at Dove Mountain. The players, notably Adam Scott and Graeme McDowell, have been vocal saying they don’t like Jack Nicklaus’ design. Woods was the first to do so, seven years ago.
