A longtime Mexican eatery is shifting its business toward multiple revenue sources — including making and selling salsa — after facing a tough couple years.
In an economy that’s battered restaurants, managers at El Parador, which for decades has served Mexican cuisine at 2744 E. Broadway, have worked to diversify its cash flow.
The restaurant manufactures and distributes salsa and sells it in grocery stores such as Albertsons, Safeway, Sunflower Market and Walmart.
It prepares 200 lunches per day for four charter schools.
It also provides space for wedding rehearsal dinners and business groups and plays live salsa music during the weekends.
