The new El Super store at Interstate 10 and South Sixth Avenue, which had its grand opening Wednesday, is the first Tucson location for El Super, part of Los Angeles-based chain Bodega Latina Corp.
El Super will compete with a nearby Food City and neighborhood markets that target the Hispanic population. The supermarket is in the same complex where another big store, La Curacao, an appliance and electronics retailer, is expected to open later this summer.
