Boulder, Colo.-based Sunflower Farmers Market will build two new stores in Tucson, doubling its presence here by early next year.
Sunflower plans to open one store at North First Avenue and East Limberlost Drive by the end of this year; it expects to open another at West Orange Grove and North Thornydale roads in the first quarter of next year, said Rick Volk, of Volk Company Commercial Real Estate.
Sunflower Farmers Market now has two locations, at 4645 E. Speedway and 7877 E. Broadway, according to the retailer's Web site.
The grocer's plans are "a good vote of confidence for the Tucson area," said Volk, who represented Sunflower in its expansion plans.
