The Tohono O'odham Gaming Enterprise has named Andy Asselin, a tribal casino executive from Michigan, to head Desert Diamond Casinos & Entertainment as CEO.
Asselin has more than 30 years of experience in the gaming and resort industry, most recently as CEO of gaming operations for the Saginaw Chippewa Indian Tribe, which operates two casinos in Michigan.
Asselin has run multiple-location facilities, overseen the construction of new facilities and operated casinos in Michigan, California and Nevada, the tribe said.
Asselin succeeds interim Desert Diamond CEO Libby Francisco, who returns to her position as chief operating officer of the gambling operation.
The O'odham operate Desert Diamond casinos in Tucson, Sahuarita and Why. The enterprise's amenities also include a convention center and meeting facilities.
