A new community taking shape on the south side combines affordability with energy efficiency.
Sunnyside Pointe, on South Park Avenue south of West Irvington Road, is a joint project of La Frontera Arizona, Old Pueblo Community Services and Pepper Viner Homes.
The development, which recently held its grand opening, offers three- and four-bedroom homes for qualified first-time home buyers. The first phase of the planned 267-home development will consist of 92 homes, starting at about $154,000. Down-payment assistance of up to $42,000 is available, La Frontera said.
Sunnyside Pointe homes include an energy-efficient 14 SEER (Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratio)-rated heat pump, a programmable thermostat, an energy-efficient 52-gallon water heater and high-efficiency windows.
