Popular local sandwich joint Beyond Bread is opening a new shop on the northwest side of Tucson.
The eatery, which has seen its business slow down during the recession, has been eyeing that side of town for several years, said Shelby Collier, who owns the restaurant with his wife Randie.
The new Beyond Bread will be in the La Toscana Village shopping center on the southeast corner of West Ina and North Oracle roads. The sandwich shop is taking 4,500 square feet of space in a building once occupied by Blockbuster Video.
Beyond Bread opened its doors in 1998 and it has two other locations, one at 3026 N. Campbell Ave. and the other at 6260 E. Speedway.
