Ice kiosks have popped up around Tucson with discount prices on cubes.
An IceBorn self-serve location recently opened at South Sixth Avenue and Irvington Road.
Parent company Ice House America has been adding dozens of kiosks a year throughout the country under the name IceBorn and Twice the Ice.
The ice is made on site at each kiosk to eliminate shipping costs. The company offers 16-pound bags for $1.50 and some have 10-pound bags for $1.
There are six Twice the Ice locations in the Tucson, and the south-side IceBorn site is the first in the area.
