A convenience store, charter school, apartments, ER and steaks — here’s a rundown of current construction activity around town:
The latest QuikTrip location is being built on the northeast corner of Oracle and Fort Lowell roads.
The Tulsa, Oklahoma-based company received permits for a 5,773-square-foot building, plus fuel stations and canopy, valued at $1.2 million.
Since entering the Tucson market in 2009 with a shop at 2345 E. Irvington Road, QuikTrip has built more than a dozen locations in Pima County.
Other recently issued building permits are for:
- A $6.5 million, 48,300-square-foot Leman Academy of Excellence Charter School at 7750 N. Schisler Drive, near Cortaro and Silverbell roads.
- A $4 million, 4,685-square-foot gas plant and fuel station for the city at 4004 S. Park Ave.
- A $4 million, 28,400-square-foot hangar that Pima County will build at the Pima Air & Space Museum, 6000 E. Valencia Road.
- A $3.4 million, freestanding 11,455-square-foot Northwest Medical emergency room at 10146 E. Old Vail Road.
- A $819,000, 6,280-square-foot LongHorn Steakhouse restaurant across the street from Tucson Mall at 4421 N. Oracle Road.
- A $683,000, 5,828-square-foot multifamily complex going up at 1533 E. 12th St., next door to Miles Exploratory Learning Center.
