Compass Bank's branches will be known as BBVA Compass next year to reflect its corporate parent, Banco Bilbao Vizcaya Argentaria SA of Spain.
Signs outside the branches will post the new name during the first quarter of 2009, the company told The Associated Press.
Customer accounts will remain under Compass Bank. The Spanish company acquired Compass last year.
